Alba Orbital is the world leader in PocketQube satellites and is one of the UK’s most innovative companies. We are looking to add anRF Engineer, with an emphasis on Antenna design, to our small, highly driven team. You will be tasked with designing new Antenna’s for PocketQubes. This position would best suit an early stage engineer with preferably a Master’s Degree or PhD and ideally some industrial experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of Antenna’s to in-orbit validation stage for our first demonstration mission

• Design of new antennas

• Testing RF subsystems

• Design and qualify product to suitable environmental standards

The candidate must demonstrate

• Understanding of Electromagnetics fundamentals

• Experience in antenna and analog circuit design

• Hands on experience using RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, vector signal analyzers, etc.)

• Antenna performance optimisation for Long Range RF applications with tight volume and power budget constraints

• Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) methodologies

• Willingness to continuously learn and overcome any obstacle put in their way

• Innovation, Perseverance and a Genuine knowledge of and passion for Startups

• EU or Schengen area Citizenship
