CAVU Vibration Test - Case Study
CAVU SPACE VALIDATE FLIGHT HARDWARE AT ALBA AHEAD OF SPACE MISSIONS
We recently welcomed Ali, Chief Engineer at CAVU Space, to Alba Orbital to validate three of their flight hardware products using our vibration testing facilities in Glasgow, Scotland.
CAVU Space manufactures computers and other hardware for space applications, including satellites, CubeSats and small spacecraft.
The testing included three flight model acceptance-level tests: a CubeSat camera and two onboard computers. One of the computers is designed for a robotic arm that NASA will deploy on a future space mission, while the other is CAVU’s HyperPolar onboard computer, which is already being supplied to customers around the world.
CAVU chose to test locally at Alba, with Ali highlighting the professionalism and efficiency of the facility:
“We’re in Glasgow, very close to us, and the job is professional. The shaker, everything is standard. Everything is great.”
The team was also able to test all three devices in a single morning, with each product taking around an hour to test.
“We came at 9:00 in the morning and then before 12 it was done. So like just one hour for each product, which is great.”
