Alba Orbital successfully launched the Alba Cluster 8 mission from onboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket (‘Transporter-9’) on 11th November 2023 at 18:49 UTC at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This mission served as Alba Orbital’s 6th successful flight, taking the total number of satellites launched by the organisation up to 37, the most in the world!

Mission overview

Onboard this rideshare mission were 6 spacecraft comprised of 5cm PocketQube pico-satellites from 6 different countries. These were developed by Alba Orbital (Scotland), Carnegie Mellon University (USA), SpaceIn (Malaysia), FRR (Romania) & HydraSpace/AMSAT-EA (Spain) with functions such as Earth Observation, Amateur Radio, Technology demonstration & loT.
